Core Service Agency

  The Core Service Agency (CSA) plans, manages, and monitors the Public Mental Health System.  Each year, the agency serves more than 1800 children and adults through programs ranging from individual treatment to housing.

 Services include:

  • Coordination of mental health care for persons who are transitioning from State Hospitals and other institutional settings into the community
  • Mental health services to consumers in the local Detention Center 
  • Case management services to adults, children, the homeless mentally ill, and persons leaving the Charles County Detention Center

The Maryland Mental Hygiene Administration funds most of the local programs.  Funding is also provided through U.S. Housing and Urban Development, a Federal Block Grant, and other sources. Local mental health programs are offered on either a contractual or “fee-for-service” basis.

  • In-Home Intervention for Children
  • In-Home Intervention for Adults

  • Mental Health Transportation-clinic appointments
  • Program to Assist Transition from Homelessness-case management
  • Rental Assistance
  • Shelter Plus Care-housing
  • Therapeutic Foster Care
  • Transition-Age Youth—young adult independent living
  • Transition-Age Youth-Mental Illness & Substance Abuse
  • Wellness and Recovery
