The first mosquito transmitted (local transmission) cases of Zika virus in the continental US have been reported in Miami, Florida. At least 14 people in the Miami area who have not traveled to foreign countries have been infected by Zika virus. Until now, all cases of Zika in the continental US were travel related or sexually transmitted.
