Child Health / Child Immunizations

The Charles County Department of Health provides immunizations through the Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program to eligible children living in Charles County. Our goal is to educate and assist caregivers with making decisions that will protect them, their children, and the community. We offer back-to-school, childhood, and preteen and adolescent vaccines. Please contact 301-609-6835 to schedule an appointment.

Eligibility Requirements

A child is eligible for the VFC Program if he or she is younger than 19 years of age and is one of the following:

Children with private health insurance should schedule immunization appointments with their primary health care provider.

Back-to-School Vaccines

Here at the Charles County Department of Health, we provide all of the required vaccines for entry into Maryland schools.

Childhood Vaccines

It is important to vaccinate children because their immune systems are not strong enough to fight serious diseases. Immunizing children also helps protect the community. Children who are too young to be vaccinated and people who can’t be vaccinated for medical reasons count on vaccinated individuals to prevent the spread of diseases

The childhood vaccines we offer:

Birth – 6 years

7 years – 11 years

Pre-teen and Adolescent Vaccines

Documents to Bring

If the child is covered by Medical Assistance, please bring the child’s Medical Assistance card.

If the child has never been vaccinated at the Charles County Department of Health, immunization records must be received prior to the appointment to determine which vaccine(s) your child needs.
