The HIV program provides services and care across the continuum, from prevention education, to testing, to services for persons living with HIV. All services are available to individuals in Charles, Calvert and St. Mary’s Counties.
We utilize registered nurses and licensed social workers trained and educated in the care of the HIV-infected individuals to provide services to persons living with HIV in Southern Maryland (Charles, Calvert and St. Mary’s Counties). Our case managers are available to assist the individual and family in locating and accessing needed medical, social and other services, to coordinate services and care and to provide support and education with a goal of working toward improved health status and self-sufficiency. There is no cost for the person living with HIV for case management services. Call 301-609-6724 for more information or to request services.
Financial assistance is available for eligible persons living with HIV to purchase needed services for which the individual has no resources. Services provided may include, but are not limited to, medical needs including copays, transportation, food, housing and utility assistance. Clients must meet eligibility requirements and all other resources must be explored and exhausted.
We link persons living with HIV with dental providers in the community and provide financial assistance to pay for eligible oral health services, including cleaning, exams, xrays, fillings, extractions and partials as necessary. Individuals must meet financial eligibility requirements.
Condoms are available for free at the health department.
