The official definition of Trauma Informed Care is an organizational structure and treatment framework that involves understanding, recognizing, and responding to the effects of all types of trauma.
In everyday language, it is a mindset to understand that most people we will come in contact with have experienced some sort of trauma and loss that might influence their reactions. We also have to be mindful of how our own history, attachment history, parenting history, relationship history, work history etc affects OUR reactions.
